Among Us - Easter Eggs (part 1)
Everyone who has been through 2020, quarantined at their houses have certainly played this game and if not, definitely heard about it. I'm talking about 'Among Us'. This game has apparently come as a blessing in disguise during the Covid-19 lockdown worldwide. And just like Google this game is teeming with Easter Eggs.
About the game
Although it was released in June 2018, the game didn't rise to prominence until mid
2020. Since then Among us has seen quick rise in popularity due to a combination of multiple factors: gameplay, maps, animation, game concept and engagement level. The game has not only become one of the most played games internationally, but also the most viewed content on YouTube and a golden opportunity for memers.
The Easter Eggs
Presently the Game server consists of seven noted Easter Eggs that are relevant
and are currently active. These have been categorized accordingly into two parts. The first part consists of Easter Eggs that are popular hidden references to various movies and video-games. This category compromises of four eggs that are mainly found in the latest map 'Airship'.
1] HALO Bloodblade - Vault
One of the most noticeable references in the game. As you go through the vault In the Airship you will notice various artifacts including the legendary infected energy sword also known as The Bloodblade. This is a reference to the game 'HALO'.
2] Ninja Turtles Weaponry - Armory
When you go further south of the 'Armory' in the 'Airship' map, you can see that among the guns there is a set of edged weapons. Now for those who have seen the all time classic, 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' will know whom these weapons refer to. You can see a Sai, Katana, Nunchucks and a Bo-staff which are the signature weapons of the respective characters.
In the same year that Mario was released, another video-game called Banjo-Kazooie was also introduced. The main characters included a bear who always wore a blue bag with a red bird in it. Surprisingly, when in the north-west of the vault you can see the very same backpack with the character Kazooie's red beak sticking out of it.
4] The Terminator thumbs up - Polus Map
For those who don't know in the movie 'Terminator 2' T-800 kills himself by lowering down into lava and gives a thumbs up meanwhile showing that he's all right. Similarly when an imposter is voted out on the Polus map, the player is thrown into a pool of lava. Most of the time the imposters quickly sink, but every once in a while they give the thumbs up as a reference to the scene from the 'Terminator 2'.
Day by day the games popularity is constantly increasing, so make sure to go ahead and play as it is free for all devices an available in both Mac iOS and Android. Here we come to an end of part one, stay tuned for more as part two will be published shortly. If you liked the content please do follow us.
