What are Digital Easter Eggs and how do I find them?
I have been interested in technology, secrets and surprises since a very early age and they come together, Easter Eggs came forth. I have been searching for, finding, and remembering Easter Eggs since 4 years. I have decided that some of the more interesting ones should be shared with users, gamers and programmers worldwide, and thus, this blog was created. This post will attempt to explain what Easter Eggs are, and some of the various methods through which they can be found.
What are Easter Eggs in general?
They are a part of the Easter festivities and are usually used as gifts. During Easter however, they are sometimes hidden and hunted for. When retrieved, opening them usually provides you with gifts.
What are Digital Easter Eggs?
Digital Easter Eggs are surprises that are hidden in various online/offline digital services. While most of them are mere jokes, a lot of them are in some or the other way deeply related to the company that offers the service or program.
How do I find them?
Easter Eggs can be found in many places, like games and Search Engines. Take Google for example. As one of the most-used Search Engines in the world, it has massive usage all across the world and is one of the biggest tech companies. While many people don't know this, Google has many Easter Eggs that refer to old games, serials or the Company itself. I will describe many of these Easter Eggs in another post.
Most of the programs in the world that include Easter Eggs, mostly reference legendary people, games, serial, movies and the like. Taking the Google Search Engine as an example again, we see that some of it's Easter Eggs refence old video-game characters and movies.
